Cybereason, a leader in endpoint protection, today announced that Lodrina Cherne, Principal Security Advocate, will be giving a keynote address at this week’s SANS Digital Forensics & Incident Response Summit. Cherne’s keynote, titled ‘Learning at Scale’ focuses on the need for forensics examiners to understand the best solutions for day-to-day work and when to employ specialist tools as they are vital for protecting organizations from the latest threats. The keynote takes place Friday, July 17, 9:25 am-10:00 am ET. More than 20,000 people are expected to attend the Summit.
Cherne is a Principal Security Advocate at Cybereason within the new Office of the CSO, where she collaborates with customers to deliver optimal solutions working to advance security policy and standards. She is also a SANS Certified Instructor. In 2019, Cherne was named to SC Magazine's prestigious ‘Women to Watch’ in IT security list. Cherne also performs research with the Technology and Social Change Research Project in the Shorenstein Center at Harvard Kennedy School. Previously she worked as a computer forensics examiner for Arsenal Consulting, where she focused on preservation and analysis of electronic evidence.
She earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from Boston University and holds the GCFE, GCFA, and GASF certifications. Cherne is a member of the GIAC Advisory Board, contributes to the blog This Week in 4n6 and is a two-time Lethal Forensicator Coin Holder. She is an internationally recognized powerlifter who earned the title of National Champion at the 2013 USA Powerlifting championship and received the bronze medal at the 2014 IPF World Championships. Cherne also volunteers for the Massachusetts foster care system.
