Earlier today Cybereason announced a $100 million investment led by SoftBank Corp. to support the company’s global growth and advance its innovation in XDR, EDR, and EPP solutions. In addition, the company announced that Eric Gan will serve as the company’s new CEO (subject to confirmation by the company’s board and pending customary regulatory approvals) while current CEO and Co-Founder Lior Div will transition to the role of advisor. Below is a copy of the email Lior sent to the company on this exciting, and personally bittersweet, new chapter.
My fellow Defenders:
Eleven years ago, Yonatan, Yossi, and I set out to find a new way to fight cyber criminals and reverse the adversary advantage. Together we created Cybereason. Being a co-founder and the CEO of this company has been an incredible gift, allowing me to meet so many people worldwide, creating ever-lasting friendships, and providing first-hand help to thousands of customers.
Today marks a bittersweet milestone for me. As we celebrate an extraordinary new round of $100M financing for Cybereason, I also announce my transition from CEO to an advisor for Cybereason. I am so incredibly proud of what we have built here – a company that Gartner recognizes as a clear EPP leader, a platform that achieved historic MITRE ATT&CK scores, and, most importantly, a technology that protects thousands of customers worldwide from cyberattacks.
Yet as an entrepreneur and technologist, I am ready to start my next chapter.
It is impossible for me to find adequate words to express how I feel. To have a vision and have others commit to building it - from customers to partners and most notably, you — is an extraordinary thing. I am humbled and, even more so, I am grateful from the bottom of my heart, to YOU, the people who helped make Cybereason happen.
I extend my most heartfelt thanks and love to each one of you for being part of this journey. Thank you for being part of it.
