Cybereason’s Andrew Borene is Elected to the National Defense Industrial Association’s Special Operations Division Executive Board

Sep 16, 2020

Cybereason, a leader in endpoint security, today announced that Andrew Borene, its Managing Director for the US Public Sector, was recently elected to the executive board of the National Defense Industrial Association’s (NDIA) Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict (SO/LIC) Division. Borene was also named Chairman of the organization’s Industry Outreach Committee.

“Andrew Borene was unanimously elected to the SO/LIC executive board and his passion and expertise in establishing public-private partnerships between industry, government, and academia is paying dividends as we prepare for our October 2 Symposium,” said Dana Hudson, Chair of NDIA’s SO/LIC Division.

“It is an honor to be part of the NDIA leadership effort with SO/LIC and to be playing a role in ensuring that our nation’s elite warfighters have the best technology and industrial support to do their jobs and protect the interests of the United States. This is a massively pivotal moment for special operations forces, as American policymakers are becoming more focused on a national security strategy for great power competition and the troops themselves must simultaneously adapt to a cyber-dominated tactical battle space,” said Borene.

Borene will moderate a panel on protecting global supply chains from espionage, sabotage and cyber threats, Friday, October 2, 2:25 pm - 3:00 pm ET, titled ‘Securing SOF’s Supply Chain Against Near Peer Adversaries.’ Panelists include: Chris Inglis, former National Security Agency Deputy Director and Alan Estevez, National Security and Logistics Executive, Deloitte and former Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense. He was a senior advisor to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s IARPA Director, was a Pentagon Lawyer, and served on the intelligence staff of the First Marine Division during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. As an adjunct professor, Borene has written and edited books and chapters on US Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Irregular Warfare, Human Rights Law and National Security Law. He is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a recipient of the FBI Director’s Award for exceptional service in the public interest.
