Cybereason Names Joe O’Donnell Vice President of Channels in the Americas

Oct 7, 2019

Cybereason, creators of the leading Cyber Defense Platform, today announced that Joe O’Donnell has joined the company as its Vice President of Channels in the Americas. He will oversee Cybereason’s channel programs in the Americas as the company rapidly expands the deployment of its award-winning platform into new markets. Cybereason also today announced a strategic partnership with World Wide Technology, a market-leading, $11 billion technology solution provider. Both announcements highlight Cybereason’s commitment as a channel-focused organization.

O’Donnell is a serial entrepreneur bringing more than 25 years of sales and channel-specific skills and knowledge to Cybereason. Most recently, he was the Senior Director of Cybersecurity Sales at Palo Alto Networks, where he ran sales for the Cortex solution set. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Cisco Systems, Honeywell Cyber and SecureLogix.

“As a long-time veteran in the cybersecurity field, I’m excited to hear that Joe has joined Cybereason and is running the Americas channels for the company. He has a wealth of experience, understands the cybersecurity landscape and will help us maximize the most value out of our partnership. We are already our growing partnership with Cybereason as we have been working closely with Joe and his team," said Matt Berry, World Wide Technology, Head of Endpoint Security, Global Security Practice.

O’Donnell is a respected, award-winning channel executive, having been named a CRN Channel Chief three times, and is no stranger to vendor President’s Clubs.

“I am excited about joining Cybereason as its rapidly expanding channel opportunities are opening the eyes of the most respected solution providers across the Americas. There is tremendous value in the company’s Cyber Defense Platform which allows me to work with partner principles and owners to build out the cyber practices and deliverables that customers need to defend against multi-vector threats. I am laser focused on building and delivering market making profitability programs with key partners. Hand-in-hand with marquee SSI’s, MSP’s and SI’s, we are rapidly introducing our highly differentiated cyber solutions such as MDR into enterprises that demand such protections,” said O’Donnell.

Cybereason recently launched Game Changers, a series of new channel program investments focused on making strategic partners profitable in their Cybereason business. Partners need deep cybersecurity expertise to join Game Changers. Earlier this year, the company named Ghazal Asif, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Channels.

In August, Cybereason raised $200 million in new capital from SoftBank Group Corp. to disrupt the Endpoint Protection Platform market and aggressively expand its partner program. Cybereason will also build the world’s first full stack offering for truly Autonomous Security.

“What has Cybereason really excited about hiring Joe is that he is an industry disruptor who has built a multi decade career in this industry by listening to partners, understanding their needs and then working together to solve the challenges enterprises have in stopping sophisticated threats in their environment. Joe is helping Cybereason capitalize on the competitive missteps in the channel that have occurred in the EPP/EDR industry,” said Shai Horovitz, Chief Revenue Officer, Cybereason.
